GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — Gastonia police are investigating after a 14-year-old girl was shot to death Tuesday.
Officers went to the 300 block of North Chester Street at about 1 p.m. for a medical call and found a teenage girl with a gunshot wound, according to Gastonia Police Department officials.
She was taken to a hospital, but died from her injuries.
Police said a 2013 or 2014-model, white Chevrolet Impala with temporary plates and a dent on the left part of the back bummer was seen leaving the area and is suspected in the shooting.
Few details have been released about the deadly shooting, but detectives say they do think this was an isolated incident.
