Fans are happy they can attend the tournament at Sedgefield Country Club this year
While fans are able to attend in-person this year, the pandemic continues to cast a shadow, which includes spectator capacity and indoor mask requirements.
Tyler Lee is so happy to be back at the Wyndham Championship this year because he says it’s such a unique experience to be just feet away from top golfers.
“It’s amazing. I just want to be with them,” Lee emphasized.
Lee plays golf and is from Kernersville. This is his fourth time at the Wyndham, and he says it’s one of his favorite weeks of the year.
“Just to see what they can do and be right up close and personal. It’s probably as close as most people will ever get to these guys,” Lee said.
While some fans are walking the course, others are watching from houses and tailgating with friends.
“Last year was a lot of fun, but having the fans and spectators all around makes it more of a golf tournament, so it is a lot of fun,” Jeff Womack emphasized.
The Wyndham implemented a lot more digital games this year with the new safety precautions, including a QR scavenger hunt.
Lee said with the strong field of golfers this year and the fun fan experience, you just can’t beat it.
The capacity is limited to 15,000 people this year, and tickets for the weekend are close to selling out.
You can purchase tickets online.
The tournament runs through Sunday.
