4 Raleigh Food Trucks to Try in February 2023

Raleigh-area food trucks we’re loving right now

Berto’s Chimis

Chimi, chimi, ya! For a bun in a million eating experience, belly up to Berto’s and get lost in saucy authentic Dominican burgers topped with shredded cabbage, tomato and special sauce (you’re gonna want extra)—plus traditional sides like yuca frita, tostones and maduros. After overcoming a slight bump in the road this summer, DR native and Berto’s founder Roberto Diaz is back slinging nostalgic and bold flavors to the people of Raleigh. Lettuce rejoice! bertoschimis.com

Tombachi Restaurants

If you’re ’bout that bachi life, look no further than this Asian food truck serving up “hibachi, but better”—aka everything you love about a hibachi restaurant minus the onion volcanoes and shrimp tossing. Think hefty platters of fried rice feat. chicken, rib-eye steak, shrimp and/or veggies. Pro tip: Get it “Tombachi-style” with an over-easy egg and double sauce. Sounds so rice. tombachirestaurants.com

Las Gringas

Named after a signature Mexican dish comprised of flour tortilla tacos topped with queso oaxaca, carne al pastor, pineapple, and salsa roja or verde, this spec-taco-lar truck serves up authentic Mexican eats like fried shrimp tossed in chipotle ancho sauce, stuffed egg rolls (aka Mexi-rolls), burritos, nachos and tacos, natch. And to boot, Las Gringas is the first food truck in the Triangle to offer trompo al pastor and authentic tepache—and, seriously, it slaps. tacoslasgringas.com

Vegan Ice Cream Man

If you’re looking to satisfy your sweet tooth while still feeling good about what you’re eating, try this plant-based dairy-, egg-, nut- and soy-free (whew!) all-inclusive ice cream truck. Powered by plants and motherly love (the owner says his mother ate ice cream every day while she was pregnant with him), the vegan cream dream offers a variety of fun flavors—from apple pie to thin mint to coffee and doughnuts. How sweet (!). veganicecreamman.com
