MECKLENBURG COUNTY, N.C. — A man is facing murder charges in the killing of a missing 30-year-old Gastonia woman.
LaPorscha Baldwin’s body was found in Fairfield County, S.C. on October 14, four days after her family reported her missing from Gastonia, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say. During that time she was also reportedly seen in Mecklenburg County.
William Combs, 35, was arrested in the case in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina on October 16.
Combs is awaiting extradition to Mecklenburg County, where he faces first-degree murder charges in Baldwin’s death.
