Commissioner Causey to honor retiring fire chief with Commissioner’s Award in Mebane

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will honor Fire Chief Robert Louis with a Commissioner’s Award during a special presentation in Mebane on Tuesday, Dec. 5.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will present the award to Chief Louis for over 30 years of service.

Louis has been a part of Mebane’s Fire Department since 1993, when he joined as a volunteer, and he became Mebane’s first career fire chief in 2000. He will retire on Dec. 31.

“Chief Louis has worked his way up through the ranks to chief and is well respected in his department,” Commissioner Causey said. “I’m proud to present him with this special award before he heads off into retirement later this month.”
