Commissioner Causey to present two Order of the Guardian awards during visits to Wilkesboro and Elkin


North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will present Order of the Guardian awards during two scheduled visits to Wilkes and Surry counties on Tuesday, March 7.

The Commissioner, who serves as the State Fire Marshal, presents this award to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding service.

During a scheduled afternoon stop in Wilkesboro, Commissioner Causey will present the first Guardian award to Johnny Mastin for 65 years of active service to the fire industry. Mastin was one of the charter members of the Broadway Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in starting the Wilkes County Fire Fighters Training Facility.

Commissioner Causey will then visit Elkin later that evening to present a Guardian award to Chuck Holcomb for his 50 years of service with the Elkin Emergency Rescue Squad.
