North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce the new insurance rating for the Burlington Fire Department in Alamance County on Tuesday, June 27.
The announcement will take place at 1:30 p.m. at the Burlington Fire Department Station 1, 215 S. Church St. Burlington, N.C. 27215
The Burlington Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.
The new ratings will become effective for insurance policies on Oct. 1.
