Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey to meet with agents, first responders, deliver grant checks during visit to Randolph and Moore counties on Thursday

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey plans to drop by insurance agencies, visit several fire stations and deliver grant checks to departments in need during visits to Randolph and Moore counties on Thursday, Aug. 27.

While meeting with insurance agents, Commissioner Causey will listen to agents’ concerns and discuss his efforts to modernize the insurance industry in the state and make the department more consumer friendly.

Commissioner Causey, who is also the State Fire Marshal, will present ceremonial matching grant checks during his stops at Westmoore Volunteer Fire Department and Eagle Springs Volunteer Fire Department. These grant checks will be used by the fire departments to purchase new equipment and turnout gear for firefighters.

Commissioner Causey will also listen to first responders’ concerns and discuss his partnership with North Carolina fire departments to improve volunteer firefighter recruitment and retention.
