PDQ closes 4 Triangle locations; among 8 in the Carolinas

PDQ announced on Wednesday that four of its restaurants in the Triangle area are set to close and be sold, as part of a broader closure of eight locations across North Carolina and South Carolina. This decision, described as difficult, follows a thorough evaluation of market conditions.

The affected PDQ locations include Raleigh, Durham, Cary, and Wake Forest in the Triangle region, along with establishments in Winston-Salem, Hickory, Greenville, and Columbia. However, PDQ assured that select locations, such as those in Concord, Cornelius (Tenders), and on Concourse E at Charlotte International Airport, will remain operational.

The company emphasized its commitment to supporting affected employees during this transition, noting that executive members have personally met with restaurant teams over the past week. PDQ stated that it will provide severance packages to impacted staff and assist them in finding new job opportunities.

Recognizing the integral role of its team members and expressing gratitude to loyal customers, PDQ acknowledged the relationships forged over the years and expressed regret at the closure of these establishments. Despite the closures, PDQ remains dedicated to maintaining its brand presence and serving its patrons through its remaining locations.
