CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Panthers’ running back Christian McCaffrey is out for the season.
The team issued a release Monday afternoon stating that running back Christian McCaffrey would be placed on the IR for the second time this year after an MRI revealed a significant ankle injury, ending his 2021 campaign.
McCaffrey was out earlier in the year for a hamstring issue that cost him five regular season games. He finishes the season with 99 rushes for 442 yards and a touchdown and 37 receptions for 343 yards and a touchdown in seven games.
