RALEIGH – Google, which is building a new engineering hub in Durham, and First Citizens will offer opportunities for job seekers to learn more and the companies and open positions today with virtual meet-and-greet events. They come a day ahead of the N.C. Technology Association’s big “Tech Job Expo” on Wednesday.
These “Meet the Employer” sessions are set for 11:30 a.m. (First Citizens) and 4:30 p.m. (Google).
The sessions and the “Tech Job Expo” are efforts by Triangle-area companies to fill thousands of open jobs.
“We have one of our largest collections ever of employers participating,” says NC Tech CEO Brooks Raiford about Wednesday’s event.
“We’ve got 40 employers with 2000+ jobs.”

Shannon Webster (senior vice president and IT Director), Wesley Cole (SVP and IT Director), and Jesse Harris (VP, Manager, Talent Acquisition) of First Citizens bank fwill provide an overview of the bank and its’ IT operations.
“Shannon, Wesley, and Jesse will share more information on the growth and future of the bank and what their recruiting teams look for in IT associates,” NC TECH notes.
On Wednesday, candidates can meet with First Citizens recruiters live via chat and video during the expo.
Google is offering a “Q&A session with Google Recruiting and a recently hired Durham-based Software Engineer,” NC TECH notes.
“Tune in as the team shares a step-by-step walkthrough of Google’s hiring process and tips for acing the interview — and bring your questions for the open Q&A.”
