Commissioner Causey to host insurance fraud town hall in Rockingham

NC Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will join experts from the NCDOI Fraud Control Group, Criminal Investigations Division, SHIIP and other community officials to address the harmful and growing issue of insurance fraud crime and what the public can do to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves from scams.

The presentation will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 11 at the Thomas Leath Memorial Library, 412 E. Franklin St., Rockingham, N.C.

This is the second town hall on the topic after the first one was held in Leland in June. The department is planning more events across the state throughout the course of the year.

“With scams and frauds taking a greater toll on Americans than ever before, I encourage everyone in the community to attend and learn the ways they can protect themselves from the disastrous effects of scams,” said Commissioner Causey.

The event is free, open to the public and media outlets are invited to join and cover this event.
