NORTH CAROLINA — What’s left of Fred could bring strong storms to the western part of the state Tuesday, forecasters warn.
Fred made landfall as a tropical storm, and has weakened, but still packs a punch as it moves up the southeast. The storm is expected to bring heavy tropical downpours, a risk of isolated tornadoes and other severe weather as it passes through North Carolina Tuesday.
