Grant to include $458 million for N.C. airports

Bipartisan infrastructure package supported by Thom Tillis includes $458 million for N.C. airports


RALEIGH, N.C. — U.S. Senator Thom Tillis secured more than $458 million to invest in North Carolina’s airports over the next five years. Tillis made the announcement Thursday. 

The funds are intended to improve infrastructure in major and regional airports across the state.

The money is coming from the Airport Infrastructure Grant included in the biartisan infrastructure package supported by Tillis. 

Charlotte Douglast International Airport will receive the highest yearly allocation total, at just over $43,000, followed by Raleigh-Durham International Airport at over $14,000.
