Shots fired in downtown Raleigh

Raleigh police are investigating a crime scene Thursday night at the corner of Martin and Haywood streets downtown.

Shots were fired on Thursday night in downtown Raleigh at the intersection of Martin and Haywood streets, according to the Raleigh Police Department. Police officers responded to the scene just before 11 p.m., and an ongoing investigation is in progress. The area has been cordoned off with yellow police tape.

Witnesses reported hearing what sounded like six to eight gunshots, followed by two more that seemed to come from a different gun. WRAL News is present at the scene, actively gathering more information.
