Woman faces DWI charge after plowing SUV into barbershop for kids in Cary, officials say

On Christmas Eve in Cary, a woman is now facing a DWI charge after crashing an SUV into a children’s barbershop, according to officials. The incident occurred just after 1:45 p.m. at a business located at 1241 Kildaire Farm Road, within the Saltbox Village shops at High Meadow Drive.

The SUV plowed into a business named Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids, which was fortunately closed at the time of the incident. Carolyn Roman, a spokesperson for the Town of Cary, stated that the GMC Acadia SUV ended up completely inside the barbershop, causing extensive damage.

Despite the severity of the crash, the driver of the SUV emerged without injuries. Emergency crews were on the scene to assess any structural damage to the building.

Following the incident, Cary police arrested the driver, who now faces a DWI charge. The circumstances surrounding the crash and the extent of the damage to the barbershop are under investigation by authorities.
