Police seek SUV driver they say fled after crash killed 2 young brothers

Authorities in Antioch, a San Francisco Bay area community, are actively seeking a suspect involved in a hit-and-run collision that resulted in the tragic death of two young brothers on Friday. The Antioch Police Department responded to a reported traffic collision at an intersection around 11:30 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered a collision involving two vehicles, with one carrying two boys aged 12 and 13. Despite being transported to area hospitals by ambulance, the young brothers succumbed to their injuries. The driver of one of the vehicles fled the scene on foot.

A preliminary assessment by the police suggests that speed and reckless driving were contributing factors in the incident. A witness reported observing a black SUV speeding past, and upon hearing a crash, went to the scene. The witness assisted the man, believed to be the father of the two boys, in removing one of them from his car.

The Antioch Police Department has urged members of the public with any information related to the hit-and-run incident to contact the department. Authorities are seeking assistance from the community to aid in their ongoing investigation and bring the suspect to justice.
