DOI launches first-ever podcast, titled ‘Insurance Insights’

The Department of Insurance launched a new podcast today designed to help inform consumers on various insurance topics and promote the many programs located within the department. 

Insurance Insights will focus on how to protect what people value most — their family, home, property and health. The first episode can be accessed via Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and other podcast apps and can be found here: https://www.ncdoi.gov/insurance-insights-podcast.

The first episode features Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey discussing the importance of disaster preparedness. 

“We are proud and excited to launch this new podcast, which should help any consumer anywhere who is looking for valuable insight and stories related to insurance and fire prevention,” said Commissioner Causey. “We have seen a lot of other state agencies in North Carolina produce podcasts that have served as a valuable resource for their audiences.” 

The podcast is produced and hosted by Marla Sink, who serves as a special advisor to the commissioner and has a wealth of previous experience as a radio and television host.

New episodes will be released at the beginning of each month and will tackle topics such as fraud and fire prevention, health care open enrollment, tips to save money on insurance costs as well as stories from the people and personalities who work in the department.
