Dozens of runners come together for Hanukkah Fun Run in Durham

Ahead of the onset of rain and storms on Sunday morning, a multitude of individuals gathered in Durham to partake in Hanukkah festivities.

The organization “Jewish for Good” orchestrated its fourth annual Hanukkah 8K and 1-mile Family Run, catering to both competitive runners and leisurely walkers.

Describing the event, one of the organizers highlighted its dual purpose, stating, “It’s a delightful way for families or individuals to bring a unique touch to their Hanukkah celebrations. At the J, we offer a diverse array of programs and services, including health and wellness. This event provides an opportunity for us to seamlessly integrate cultural celebration with the health and wellness aspect.”

The concluding day of Hanukkah falls on December 15. Despite the eventual arrival of rain and storms, participants in the event reveled in the intersection of cultural celebration and physical activity.
